Touring Muckross House in Killarney, Ireland with kidsareatrip and we3travel. The family who built the hunting lodge spent their fortune and six years preparing to host Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in hopes of securing a knighthood. Prince Albert died two months after their visit, and no knighthood was granted since the Queen went into deep mourning. But they sure enjoyed magnificent views of the lakes in Killarney.⠀

We just drove through the Gap of Dunloe (magical!!), the Black Valley, Moll`s Gap and we are currently at the Dog Friendly, Dinis Cafe, in Muckross.
This is a beautiful stop off for walkers/cyclists, plus there`s a water station and treats for our canine companions too!

This feels soooo good! This is one of my favourite techniques from the world of structural integration (of which I have many). The eccentric contraction of the muscles along the side of the spine combined with the slow, deep pressure helps to not only free up restrictions but can also give you sensory feedback to move into parts of your spine that don`t move so freely. We all have parts of the spine that we have blind spots to, for many athletes it`s the lumbar spine (low back) to which they struggle with going into flexion because many are stuck in extension, this helps to free up the soft tissue around the low back so that the spine is able to explore those ranges of motion more easily. This technique is not only good for athletes though everyone can benefit from a spine that is able to move more freely.

Before I arrived, I wasn’t really sure what to do in #Killarney. I knew it was a beautiful area, but I was surprised at what a FUN place it was😱
📸🍀┊ Visit a Pub or Two or Three, is a MUST, pubs are part of the fabric of Irish society, places to meet, drink and listen live music🍻. Ofc, the pouring of Guinness is a ritual, and I soon rediscovered my liking for Irish whiskey, I tried the best #Irishcoffee ever, and my new fave: Cider 🍎✨

Beautiful Ross Castle in the evening after some afternoon rain✨
Ross Castle is a 15th-century tower house and keep on the edge of Lough Leane, in Killarney National Park, County Kerry, Ireland.
It is the ancestral home of the Chiefs of the Clan O’Donoghue,later associated with the Brownes of Killarney.
Ross Castle was built in the late 15th century by local ruling clan the O’Donoghues Mór (Ross), though ownership changed hands during the Second Desmond Rebellion of the 1580s to the MacCarthy Mór.
There is a legend that O’Donoghue leapt or was sucked out of the window of the grand chamber at the top of the castle and disappeared into the waters of the lake along with his horse, his table and his library. It is said that O’Donoghue now lives in a great palace at the bottom of the lake where he keeps a close eye on everything that he sees.

Winter Lake Morning
Working back in Killarney National Park is like hanging out with an old friend, except now they`ve got new stories to tell.
I`m really enjoying having another look at locations that I didn`t quite get to work in for my first book , for this next one.. KINGDOM ..( definitely coming this autumn ! )
It was apparently very easy to overlook some amazing locations and to rule out others for being difficult to get to. Now I have the time and a bit more confidence to take them on and see them in them in the first place .
