Old Kenmare Road

The Old Kenmare Road is a historic route that links Killarney and Kenmare and was once the main route between them.

 

The route is approximately 13km long and takes roughly 5 hours to complete in its entirety. The road cuts right through the heart of Killarney National Park and offers stunning views of the rugged landscape and wildlife. Red deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species can be found living along the Old Kenmare Road. There are numerous historical sites scattered across it, including the Old Kenmare Church, which was built in the eighteenth century.
