4th of July Festival

No one celebrates American Independence quite like the Irish so take to the streets of Killarney and join in the festivities that will be taking place on the evening of the 3rd and all day on the 4th. 

Some highlights of the festivities include, A movie being shown on the gardens at Killarney House (tickets required), the raising of the American Flag, Wild West Cowboys doing face painting and balloon art, live Brass Band, The Big Parade and after parade tunes.

Kingdom Pride in Kerry

The Kingdom Pride in Kerry Festival has grown considerably since its very first festival  and this year it is being held in various locations across the Kingdom over the course of 7 days with Killarney being the festival capital. 

This event promotes community, inclusivity and compassion, and the various events are for everyone, whether they are a member of the LGBT+ community or a proud ally.

There will be a combination of music, art, performances, outdoor fun, and wellness activities for the 2023 festival.

The events in Killarney include a coffee morning, party in the park, pride march and drag night at Social 15.

Killarney Races

The July Races in Killarney are a sight to behold as over the course of 5 days thousands of people make their way down to Killarney Racecourse to take in the breath-taking sights and the horse racing. This years July races are taking place from July 17th – 21st with Ladies Day being held on the 21st which is a particularly popular day so remember to get suited and booted for it!

comedy shows in killarney

Killarney is a comedy hotspot and there is no shortage of comedy shows being held at various bars throughout the town. 

On July 9th at JM Reidy’s, Johnny & Diarmuid from Killarney Stand Up Comedy will host a night guaranteed to be filled with laughs For tickets see here. 

On July 21st at Courtney’s Bar, Aussie Comedian Damian Clarke brings his much praised comedy show to Killarney. For tickets see here. 

Kyla Cobbler performs at the Kingdom Comedy Club at The Shire on July 25th at 8.30pm. Kyla is one of the hottest comedy acts in Europe right now so don’t miss this.  For Tickets see here

Guinness Live & Rising at Reidys

Guinness are hosting their fourth Live & Rising in JM. Reidy’s on Thursday 6th July. This exciting new pub event will have a special guest host for the night with further details to be released closer to the events date!

Live in Killarney – Killarney – Every Evening for July – See here for the full lineup 

The Live at The Gleneagle summer season of cabaret shows runs from July 1 to August 25 in the famous Gleneagle Ballroom. Expect to hear Irish stalwarts like the Dublin City Ramblers and Gina and The Champions along with new wave stars like Rebel Hearts, Ceoil, Green Road, The Kilkennys, All Folk’d Up and many more. 

 

Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle -Kerry – July 1st – See here for more information 

This iconic cycling event now in it’s 41st year takes place along one of the world’s most renowned touring routes THE RING OF KERRY, a 170 KM circular route starting and ending in the beautiful town of Killarney. 

 

Ballybunion Arts Festival – Ballybunion – July 21 – 23 – See here for more information 

The BAF festival, which takes place in the picturesque seaside cliff town of Ballybunion, is a lively, enjoyable event for the whole family. There will be many great workshops and activities over the course of the 3 days. 

 

Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan – Tralee – 10 – 16 July – See here for more information 

The largest provincial Fleadh in Ireland, Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan brings together thousands of performers from the six counties of Munster and beyond for an annual celebration of Irish cultural heritage. The Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan was previously held in 1978 at Tralee, a town rich in tradition.
