As the name suggests this walk takes you in a loop around Muckross Lake and is one of the most spectacular walks in all of Killarney National Park. This 6km loops begins and ends at Muckross House & Gardens and takes you through some of the most beautiful locations in Killarney.
Starting at Muckross House you can follow the signposted route out towards Muckross Abbey before turning off towards the Muckross Peninsula which separates Lough Leane from Muckross Lake.
Continue on through some woods on the peninsula and make your way out towards Dinis Cottage. Grab a sandwich and a coffee and enjoy a quick break while at Dinis before heading out to see the Meeting of the Waters located nearby which is where Lough Leane and Muckross Lake meet.
Keep following the marked trail back around and you will come to a point where you can branch off towards Torc Mountain to elongate the walk or continue back to the Gardens.
This loop will provide you with lots of photo opportunities so make sure to bring a camera!
