The Full Monty set to play at the INEC Killarney this October

Playing their final ever show –The Simon Beaufoy’s THE FULL MONTY and winner of the UK Theatre Award for Best Touring Production, will play at the INEC Killarney from October 9^th -13^th. Led by Gary Lucy (best known for his role as Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks, Danny Pennant in Eastenders) Andrew Dunn (Tony in Dinnerladies) Louis Emerick (Norman the Doorman in Benidorm and most recently Mike in Coronation Street) Joe Gill (Finn Barton in Emmerdale), Kai Own (Rhys in Torchwood and Pete in Hollyoaks) and James Redmond (Finn in Hollyoaks and Abs Denham in Casualty), further casting will be announcing.

One of most acclaimed British Films and The Full Monty stage play has become one of the most phenomenal theatrical productions ever. Based on six out of work, impoverished steelworkers from Sheffield with nothing to lose, who took the world by storm and became one of Britain’s most successful shows.

Hilarious and heartfelt the production received standing ovations every night and features the iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.

We had an early start from Dingle this morning, in order to enjoy a peaceful Gap of Dunloe.
This is such a magical drive! So good, we drove up it twice!
Breakfast was enjoyed on the rocks just below our car there, before we headed for Killarney, via the Black Valley, Moll`s Gap, diniscottagetearooms and Killarney National Park.

Winter Lake Morning

Working back in Killarney National Park is like hanging out with an old friend, except now they`ve got new stories to tell.

I`m really enjoying having another look at locations that I didn`t quite get to work in for my first book , for this next one.. KINGDOM ..( definitely coming this autumn ! )

It was apparently very easy to overlook some amazing locations and to rule out others for being difficult to get to. Now I have the time and a bit more confidence to take them on and see them in them in the first place .

Hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe and well. If you`re the new owner of a print, book or calendar this year .. do let me know and I hope it was a welcome gift !!

How cool was this hiking trail that led to a waterfall? So cool that I took a picture of the stairway instead of the waterfall that was right behind me. Oh the waterfall is beautiful, but this little stairway - little he says...the sucker about wore me out - did more to make me feel like I was in Ireland then just about anything. A great trail to walk with fantastic views if you`reever in Killarney.

A very frosty Saturday morning in the Black Valley. I hadn’t planned on taking photos Saturday morning, but when I seen the frosty fields out the window I took my chances and headed for the Black Valley. I was a bit late and didn’t think I would get any reflections but the conditions were perfect and I was well wrapped up so I managed to get a few decent shots which I will post over the next few weeks or so! Happy Monday guys. Hope you had a great start to the week. 😁

If you’re ever visiting Killarney be sure to stop at the gap for some of the most unreal views everrrrr. #
As the roads are so narrow, one of the main forms of transport through the gap, is horse and cart, and not often passable by car.

During our trip, we had the bessssst weather, however on the day we went to the gap of Dunloe, it rained non stop and all horse and carts had stopped operating for the day because of the slippery road conditions (typically my luck).

We returned the next day and finally managed to squeeze it into our busy itinerary, and we were definitely NOT disappointed. How could you be with those views 🤩.

Safe to say the kids had a ball and we were definitely glad we returned the following day to enjoy the experience.

Ross Castle sits on the edge of Killarney’s lower lake and was built by O’Donoghue Mór in the 15th century. Legend of this castle has it that O’Donoghue still exists in a deep slumber under the waters of Lough Leane. On the first morning of May every seven years he rises from the lake on his magnificent white horse and circles the lake. Anyone catching a glimpse of him is said to be assured of good fortune for the rest of their lives. The large rock at the entrance to the bay is known as O’Donoghue’s prison. Ross Castle was the last stronghold in Munster to hold out against Cromwell. It was eventually taken by General Ludlow in 1652.
